Frequently Asked Questions

house cleaning glasgowIf you are looking to have your house cleaned you will likely have a few questions. We try to answer all your questions either on the pages that tell you about that particular service, or on this page. However if there is any question you may have that is not listed below feel free to go to our contact page and get in touch.

Do I need to provide any equipment or supplies?

We bring all cleaning equipment and supplies required for the job booked in. This is why it is essential to book in the correct service, for example if it will be an after builders then it should be booked in as such so the cleaners bring the correct equipment and supplies for that job. The only thing we don’t bring that may be required is ladders. We use small cars so can’t bring ladders, if your ceilings are unusually high, ladders or something for us to stand on may be required to be provided.

Do you tidy up during a regular clean?

Yes! We will tidy up a little mess and try to make your place look better before we start to clean. We will also throw away any rubbish into an inside bin (where it is easily accessible). Please keep in mind when we visit your home we are there to clean though so it can only be a few items lying around. The busier / messier the home will be the more time will be required and may incur additional fees.

Will you deep clean ovens, carpets etc during a regular clean?

No. These are one off clean options so aren’t available during a recurrent clean. If you need specialist cleans like deep oven cleans, deep carpet cleans etc then we recommend using a one-off cleaning service before using booking in a regular clean with us.

What is The Difference Between a Deep Clean, Spring Clean etc?

Each page for each service will go into more detail for each service. But in a nutshell a deep clean is the highest form of clean, where furniture is moved, everything is cleaned down and the home is cleaned from top to bottom. A spring clean is a deep clean where furniture isn’t moved. An after builders clean is similar to the deep clean, where everything is cleaned down but with layers of builders dust in mind. An end of tenancy clean is a deep clean in a property where there is no furniture present. Our one off cleans will bring a property up to a high standard. A Regular or recurrent clean is to tidy up and provide a general clean to maintain an already high standard.

What Do You Clean in my Home?

Ultimately this is entirely up to you. However for most of our services this typically includes dusting all surfaces, lights, pictures, shelfs, furniture and decor fixtures. We will also clean sills, glass, mirrors, chrome etc. The floor will either be hoovered or mopped depending on hard or carpeted flooring.

In the kitchen all worktops will be cleaned, tiles and splashbacks, hob, sink and taps, the fronts of all cupboards and drawers and the fronts of electrical appliances. The floor will also be hoovered and mopped.

The bathroom is similar to the kitchen. The tiles, chrome and mirrors will all be cleaned. All parts of the toilet, bath, shower, wash hand basin will all be scrubbed and washed down. The floor as always will also be cleaned.

Essentially we will clean everything you list in the contact form and we agree to clean!

How Long Will A One-Off Clean Take?

This really depends on the work involved. We will send a team based on the information you provide to us and always aim to complete within 1 day. We have years of experience so as long as we have the correct information about the job, the correct information about the property we will be able to send a team the correct size to either complete the job in half a day or a full day.

Do I Have To Supply Cleaning Equipment?

Sparkle Sparkle supply all of our own cleaning equipment and supplies. We use eco-friendly supplies that are the highest standard in the industry. They are also safe for children and pets. If you would prefer that we use your own supplies that is fine too.

Are Your Staff Vetted?

Yes our staff are fully vetted. We only employ staff who pass our two level interview process. We ask for references and ensure that our staff have no criminal record. We employ our staff on either full or part time contracts, we are not an agency. This makes sure that we keep control over our staff and the quality of their work. All cleaners are fully trained to our high standards.

Will the Carpet Cleaning Guarantee All Stains Are Removed?

Our team will make every attempt to remove even the worst of stains from your carpets and upholstery but some stains won’t be able to be removed. We will of course try our best. Our staff will clean your carpets to the highest standard possible. The carpets will take roughly 1-2 hours to dry on average.
